PRESS RELEASE

Ardent Sound, Inc. Announces FDA Clearance for Voyager(TM) Compact
Ultrasound Imaging System
The Company announces they have received a 510(k) approval for the Voyager(TM)
Compact Ultrasound Imaging System and will begin shipping devices in
April.
Voyager(TM) is first in the Ardent Sound family of products designed to
function
as a peripheral with a standard laptop or desktop personal computer. "It is an
ultra portable system that rivals the resolution and diagnostic quality of mid
and high-end systems from the recent past, while costing a fraction of the
price of mid and high-end units available today", states Michael Slayton, CEO.
"Our intent was to develop lightweight, portable ultrasound imaging
devices with image quality good enough to improve clinical care in the
radiology suite and in the many diverse environments beyond."
The Voyager(TM) Compact Ultrasound Imaging System is priced below $5,000,
making it affordable for all clinical specialties, medical offices, clinics,
medical residents, students,
rural communities and developing countries. Slayton claims, "This is a
disruptive technology in a $4B market. Voyager(TM) has a cost/performance
equation that will expand point-of-care imaging beyond the current market
growth projections of 20% per year".
The flexible product design, combined with the power of the PC platform enables
end users to continually increase the capabilities of the system by adding
software/firmware upgrades, such as 3D and other options. Products are DICOM
compatible for data transmission and archiving across networks, further
supporting a broad range of care settings and clinical applications.
Novel mechanical, electronic and software designs insure exceptional
reliability and performance. The company is working to establish an effective
reseller network in the U.S. and international markets.
Ardent Sound, Inc. expects to receive FDA approval for two additional
peripheral ultrasound imaging systems soon, including the Spark(TM) High
Frequency Imaging System and Seeker(TM) General Purpose Imaging System.
Founded in Arizona in 1994, Ardent Sound, Inc. was previously known as
Guided Therapy Systems, Inc. The company was reorganized in 2004 and remains a
leader in researching, developing, manufacturing, and marketing diagnostic
ultrasound imaging products and technologies.
